HALLANDALE | As he has done for the past few years, Archbishop Thomas Wenski led off the 28th annual Toys in the Sun Run to benefit the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital Foundation. The run started at Mardi Gras Casino in Hallandale and ended at Markham Park in Sunrise.
Billed as the world's largest motorcycle parade, the Toys in the Sun Run raises funds and toys for children receiving cancer treatments at Joe Dimaggio Children's Hospital, as for thousands of other needy children across South Florida. More than 30,000 motorcyclists participate, bringing a $10 donation plus a toy.
The ride is organized by the South Florida President's Council of Motorcycle Clubs and Organizations.
