Immaculata-LaSalle students to take part in global youth summit

Event will mark 150th anniversary of founding of Salesian Sisters

MIAMI | Students and faculty from Immaculata-La Salle High School are preparing to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Salesian Sisters (Daughters of Mary Help of Christians) with a series of global virtual summits.

“Boldly Transforming the World in Holiness!” is the slogan of the events, which will connect, via a virtual platform, young people from different continents and countries, to share the experience of the Salesian charism lived in local realities and exchange ideas on how to reach other young people, even in times of a pandemic.

English-speaking students in Salesian Sisters schools from the United States, Canada, Europe, and Africa have been invited to participate in the Interprovincial Youth Summit to be held Sept. 25, 2021. A second English-speaking Summit for students in the United States, Canada, and Asia is scheduled for Jan. 15, 2022. There are also plans to organize a Summit for Spanish-speaking students in May of 2022.

The Youth Summit organizers from ILS hope these moments of encounter will help students, alumni, and faculty to develop a deeper sense of belonging to the worldwide Salesian Family and strengthen their resolve to boldly proclaim the Good News to young people everywhere.
