Lady Spartans win Aspirations in Computing Award

MIAMI GARDENS | Three lady Spartans from Msgr. Edward Pace High School’s STEM Academy Computer Technology Program have won the NCWIT 2021 Aspirations in Computing award.

Juniors Diana Porras and Gabriela Cespedes won the 2021 South Florida Affiliate award. Exmiralda Bazile, also a junior, won the Rising Star 2021 South Florida Affiliate award. 

The National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) works to increase the meaningful participation of girls and women in computing. The Award for Aspirations in Computing (AiC) recognizes 9th through 12th grade students for their computing-related achievements and interests.

Award winners receive regional and national recognition, gadget prizes and an automatic induction into the AiC community. Membership provides many benefits such as private invitations to virtual and in-person meetups, visibility for technical achievements, computing outreach opportunities, hands-on activities for exploring computer science concepts, exclusive access to scholarships, internships, job opportunities, and more.
