MIAMI | Nearly 200 priests and five bishops gathered at St. Mary Cathedral for the annual Chrism Mass, celebrated by Archbishop Thomas Wenski on the Tuesday of Holy Week, March 31, 2026. During the celebration, Archbishop Wenski blessed the holy oils that will be used in parishes throughout the year for the sacraments of baptism, confirmation, and the anointing of the sick.
In addition, the archbishop asked the priests of the Archdiocese of Miami to renew their commitment to priestly service and honored the jubilarians who are celebrating 25 or more years of priestly service.
Thirteen priests were honored for marking 60, 50, and 25 years of ordination, as well as two archbishops: John C. Favalora, archbishop emeritus of Miami, who marked 65 years, and Thomas Wenski, archbishop of Miami, who marked 50 years.
