MIAMI | St. Mary's Cathedral School has recognized its first Rising Star Award recipients, Gustave Seraphin and Dolcinjohn Delodge.

Gustave, a seventh grader, will receive the High Achieving Student Award. Dolcinjohn, a third grader, will receive the Turnaround Student Award. Both were nominated by their teachers at St. Mary's Cathedral School.

Middle school teachers praised Gustave for maintaining high academic achievement and for his infectious smile. His soccer coach praised him for his athletic skills and ability to just have fun.

Dolcinjohn has made tremendous strides in maintaining focus in class and supporting his teacher and classmates in a positive way. His teachers noted that he is very kind and always willing to help his peers.

The students are both part of the program sponsored by Step Up for Students, a nonprofit that supports about 90% of the families at the cathedral school. The Rising Star program encourages Catholic schools to nominate and recognize individual students for their hard work and dedication in the school community.

The Rising Star All Stars were celebrated during a livestream "Rising Stars Awards Ceremony" held Feb. 25, 2021.

“We congratulate our two All Star award recipients on their outstanding achievements,” said St. Mary’s principal, Eduardo Flor.
