Archdiocese of Miami schools commemorate the 20th anniversary of Sept. 11
Miami ... (Sept. 8, 2021) Schools throughout the Archdiocese of Miami will
commemorate the 20th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001.
- St. Ambrose,
located at, 363 S.E. 12th Avenue, Deerfield Beach is honoring the lives of those lost with a schoolwide
Patriot Day donation drive benefiting the Miami Veterans Hospital until Sept.
13, 2021. In addition, on Sept. 14, 2021, middle school students
will participate on of the “How 9/11 became a National Day of Service and
Remembrance” activity.
The following is a list
of commemorative events being held on Friday, Sept. 10, 2021:
- Saint Louis School,
located at, 7270 S.W. 120th Street, Pinecrest, will commemorate Patriot Day with the annual “Tunnel to
Towers” run led by firefighters and police officers from the community at
8:30 a.m. This year’s theme and will be based on the book “America’s White
Table.” A white table will be set during the opening ceremonies to honor the
13 soldiers recently lost to the terrorist attack in Afghanistan.
- Saint Kevin
School, located at, 4001 S.W. 127th Avenue, Miami, will commemorate the day with an outdoor Mass, 8:00 a.m., in remembrance
of 9/11. The school invites alumni of the 2001-2002 eighth grade class that
fundraised money by selling “God Bless America” shirts for the Red Cross to
participate.
- Saint Patrick
School, located at 3700 Garden
Avenue, Miami Beach, will hold two prayer services organized and led by the
eight-grade class at, 1:30 p.m. and at 2 p.m.
- Immaculate
Conception School, located at, 125
West 45th Street, Hialeah, will hold an outdoor prayer service. To
honor their service, parents who are first responders are invited to attend.
Students are asked to wear red, white, and blue.
- Saint Theresa
School, located at, 2701 Indian
Mound Trail, Coral Gables, will commemorate the day by dressing in red,
white, and blue and holding a moment of silence.
