MIAMI | Two archdiocesan schools have new principals this year. Here are brief profiles of each one.
SUSY DEL RIEGO | Blessed Trinity, Virginia Gardens
Born and raised in Miami, Del Riego is a proud product of Catholic education, having attended Gesu School and Notre Dame Academy in Miami.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Florida International University and her master’s degree in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University. She holds certifications from the State of Florida in primary education, elementary education, and educational leadership. Her 25-plus years of experience have been dedicated to Catholic education within the Archdiocese of Miami.
She began her career at St. Agatha School in Miami, where she taught pre-K, third grade, and middle school before serving as assistant principal. She then served as principal of Good Shepherd School.
She is grateful and humbled to serve in her new role at Blessed Trinity, which has a long history of academic excellence and servant discipleship.
OMAYRA ROY | Little Flower, Hollywood
Roy believes that faith, hope and dedication are essential in providing good quality education for all children. She majored in primary education and earned a master’s degree in reading and a specialist degree in educational leadership.
Over 30 years in the field of education, she has worked in the public and private sector serving as an elementary teacher, reading coach, district level supervisor, and school administrator. Roy is excited to work for the Little Flower community and looks forward to continuing its tradition of excellence in Catholic education.
