MIAMI | A crowd of almost 5,000 nearly filled the Bank United Center on the campus of the University of Miami for the annual celebration of the feast of Our Lady of Charity, patroness of Cuba.
Archbishop Thomas Wenski celebrated the Mass accompanied by Auxiliary Bishop Peter Baldacchino, Bishop Emeritus Fernando Isern of Pueblo, Colorado, Bishop Emeritus Lorenzo Leon of Huacho, Peru, and dozens of archdiocesan priests.
Father Rolando Cabrera, administrator of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Miami, preached the homily this year.
