MIAMI | Sister Kathleen Carr has been installed as the 19th General Superior of the Sisters of St. Joseph of St. Augustine. The installation took place at the motherhouse in St. Augustine July 31, feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola.
Sister Kathleen and a team of four Leadership Councilors � Sister Ann Kuhn, Sister Suzan Foster, Sister Stephanie Flynn, and Sister Carol Stovall � will lead the sisters for the next four years. She succeeds Sister Jane Stoecker, who formerly served as principal of St. Mary Cathedral School in Miami.
Born in Sarasota, Florida, Sister Kathleen is the eighth of 13 children in a devoutly Catholic family. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph on Sept. 8, 1977 and has worked in education for the past 40 years, most recently as principal of St. James School in North Miami.
She also chairs the board of directors of the St. John Bosco Clinic in Miami, which is sponsored by the sisters.
