At Our Lady of the Lakes Math Celebration, over 60 students were recognized for successfully mastering math skills as part of the Xtra Math program.
MIAMI LAKES | On Feb. 9, over 60 students from Our Lady of the Lakes School, celebrated a mathematics milestone. The students successfully demonstrated mastery or are on target to demonstrate mastery of the Math Fluency for their grade or previous grade. The students were granted a dress-down day and were awarded a certificate and other treats.
Moderated by Cyndia Marrero, curriculum coordinator for the school, Xtra Math is a free web-based program that helps students master basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Student practice sessions are short -- less than 10 minutes. Our Lady of the Lakes students in grades 1 and 2 master addition and subtraction skills, while grades 4 to 8 master addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Our Lady of the Lakes School is currently registering for grades PreK 2 through 8th grade. OLL also offers a Voluntary PreK program and accepts Step-Up for Students scholarships. For more information, visit www.ollnet.com.
