The game took place at McArthur High Stadium in Hollywood Jan. 6. The All Star team consisted of students from different private schools including Carroll High, St. Thomas Aquinas, Columbus, Chaminade-Madonna, Msgr. Edward Pace and others.

The public vs. private game was started three years ago in an effort to give graduating seniors an opportunity to be looked at one last time by coaches and recruiters from different colleges and universities across the country.

Carroll High School also is proud of senior Austin Sutter, who received a nomination from State Representative David Rivera to become a candidate for the Naval Academy in Annapolis. Austin also received acceptance to the school of engineering at North Carolina State University and a four-year scholarship from the Navy. The scholarship covers full tuition for four years, all college/university fees, text books, all uniforms, three summers of training and a monthly stipend all four years of college.

The Naval Academy is Austins first choice. The fact that he received a congressional nomination means he stands a better chance of gaining admission to Annapolis.
