Six inducted to Gibbons hall of fame

FORT LAUDERDALE � A former pro-football player and members of the 1973 state champion tennis team were among those newly inducted into Cardinal Gibbons High School�s Athletic Hall of Fame.

Jason Bostic, class of �95, who has played with the NFL�s Philadephia Eagles and Buffalo Bills, was honored during the ceremony that took place at Gibbons� gymnasium Jan. 23.

Other individual inductees were: Rob Castorri, class of �73 and former Gibbons tennis coach; Micon Lubbers, class of �85; Vanessa Fuchs, class of �97; Lowe �Junior� Wren, Gibbons coach from 1969 to 1973; and Paula Ferrante, athletic department administrative assistant, volunteer and coach, 1981-2009.

Also inducted as a group: 23 members of the 1973 girls� tennis team that won the Florida state championship.

The 2009 inductees are the seventh class of the Gibbons Hall of Fame.

�The selection committee and present Hall of Fame members are extremely proud of these athletes, coaches, team, administrators and special individuals who have made an outstanding contribution and/or offered extraordinary service to Cardinal Gibbons athletics,� said Louisr Crocco, Gibbons former athletic director and an alumnus of the archdiocesan high school.
