In a way, his wish was fulfilled when he came to Miami, a Salesian bishop told parishioners and visitors to St. John Bosco Parish in Little Havana, where the relics of the founder of the Salesian order were venerated Sept. 26 and into the morning of Sept. 27.
Since Miami is home to many people of Latin American background, Don Bosco was in a very real sense, at home in Miami, said Salesian Bishop Mario Fiandri of Guatemala, who joined Miamis retired Auxiliary Bishop Agustn Romn for a Mass at the church after the relics arrival Sunday morning.

Devotees of St. John Bosco wave flags welcoming the saint's relics to Miami's St. John Bosco Church.
The relics were received with delight by parishioners donning Don Bosco t-shirts, singing and waving flags as the wax figure of the saint moved past them and was placed facing the altar.
This is an electric moment especially for Saint John Bosco, said Bishop Fiandri, who preached at all of that Sundays standing-room-only Masses at St. John Bosco.
The visit of the relic reminded Catholics not only of the Don Boscos holiness but of how God touched many lives through him.
John Boscos raison dtre was Jesus, therefore Bishop Fiandri emphasized that with the relics visit, Don Bosco tells us its worthwhile to be Christian.

I can probably say in a very humble and joyful way, that I feel like the most happy pastor in the Archdiocese of Miami, since we welcome into our own church the Relics of our Patron Saint. It was a moving experience to see the love of the people of God rejoicing in the presence of the Relic of the friend of the children and young people. I have no words to explain to anyone, the peace I felt when celebrating the Eucharist and praying the rosary in the presence of thre relic of this great man. I encourage to read is biography and his dreams... I encourage you to imitate his spirituallity and more specially to devote yourself and your family to the Eucharist as he did in his own days.
I want to thank to all who made this possible, but in a very special way to the salesians sisters who came to us with the invitation to have Don Bosco among us.
