“Visions of Faith” an interfaith exhibit

Friday, May 31, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM - English

The riches of South Florida’s spiritual art are captured in “Visions of Faith,” an interfaith exhibit to make visible the ways that Jewish and Catholic congregations build beauty into their faith and worship.

Included are 26 photos of wall-filling stained-glass windows from synagogues and Catholic churches, plus Torah scrolls, murals, statuettes, metal sculptures, and other artworks.

The p exhibit is  co-produced by James Davis writer-photographer, who has worked for more than a decade with The Florida Catholic, the newspaper for the Archdiocese of Miami. Before then, he was the longtime religion editor of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel in Florida. His photographic exhibition is being sponsored by the St. Thomas University and curated by Isabel Medina, assistant archivist and museum coordinator.

The other contributor of the exhibit is Ellen Goldberg, a photographer and longtime Jewish communal professional.

The exhibit will open Tuesday, March 12, at 2 p.m. Rev. Jorge A. Sardiñas Gallery, on St. Thomas University and will be open daily through June 12.

Exhibition hours:

Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Aim Higher! Miami Men's Retreat

Friday, May 31, 2024 from 7:30 PM to 3:00 PM - Bilingual (English and Spanish)

“I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10)

The Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary, Religious Brothers and Priests invite young men between the ages of 18-35 to join us for our Aim Higher Retreat. In a world that is full of incomplete and often false ideas about what it means to be a man, it is important for young men to stop and consider who they are called to be in the light of Jesus Christ who is the only One who reveals man to himself and makes clear his most high calling. This retreat will go deeply into the dignity and vocation of all men and our heroic call to holiness, purpose, sacrifice, and service for the kingdom of God. Retreat Center: The Land of the Pierced Hearts*
20505 SW 256 Street, Homestead FL 33031
