DEERFIELD BEACH | As students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland prepared to return to school Feb. 28, two weeks after the shooting that left 14 students and three teachers dead, students at St. Ambrose School in Deerfield Beach created a banner to let them know "We stand MSD strong."

Many schools around South Florida, along with churches, synagogues and businesses, created similar messages of support to fill the hallways at the school. The drive was started by Ricci Nelson, a mother of two students at the school.

"Going in there and seeing the banners will make us know we are backed by the community and backed by everyone," student Kamden Hanafi told Local 10 News.
