Miami ... (Aug. 7, 2023) Wednesday, Aug. 16, marks the beginning of a new school year. An estimated 30,000 students will be going back to school at one of the 64 Catholic schools that are part of the Archdiocese of Miami including its new addition – St. Malachy School.
After 14 years of being closed, St. Malachy School is set to reopen in Tamarac.
The school will offer VPK Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten programs. During the next few years, it is expected the school will grow into a P-8 program. During its first year, St. Malachy will offer Latin, Chess, and Violin. It is anticipated the school will have a “Classical” focus, as students study the great books of western literature, and take classes in Latin, among others.
Before and after school care will be offered.
More than 2,620 faculty members and 138 administrators have been preparing the curriculum and activities for a year of academic success.
