MIAMI | Peter Routsis-Arroyo, currently head of Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Venice, will be succeeding Deacon Richard Turcotte as CEO of Catholic Charities in the Archdiocese of Miami.

Deacon Turcotte announced two years ago that he would be retiring effective June 1, 2018. Routsis-Arroyo’s first day on the job will be Jan. 29. He served as president/CEO of Catholic Charities in Venice since 2001.

“Peter has over 20 years of experience working with agencies within the Catholic Charities network,” said Msgr. Roberto Garza, chair of the archdiocese’s Catholic Charities Board of Directors. He “has a strong commitment to the mission of Catholic Charities and possesses a wealth of knowledge and expertise that will help the agency move forward both strategically and operationally.”

“Peter’s appointment concluded an exhaustive and successful executive search, which will positively impact the future of the agency,” said Deacon Turcotte. “The remaining months of my tenure will be busy with transitioning the organization to new leadership and preparing for the next phase of life.

“It is impossible to thank everyone who has so abundantly blessed my life as CEO of Catholic Charities,” Deacon Turcotte added.

Catholic Charities of the archdiocese, founded in 1931, offers a variety of services to the community, from alcohol and substance abuse treatment to child development, homeless prevention and housing, individual and family counseling, and foster care for unaccompanied refugee minors. It also recently rebooted its adoption services. For more information, go to www.ccadm.org.
