MIAMI | On Tuesday, Dec. 3, the Archdiocese of Miami will host its third annual #GiveCatholic for #GivingTuesday campaign, with 33 archdiocesan parishes, schools and entities participating.

The idea behind #GiveCatholic for #GivingTuesday is to bring the many archdiocesan communities together to donate through an easily accessible platform: the internet.

Giving Tuesday is a worldwide day for giving to charitable causes. It is an online fundraising event that takes place during a span of 24 hours, from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., the Tuesday after Thanksgiving in the U.S.

Last year, the #GiveCatholic for #GivingTuesday campaign raised more than $97,000 to benefit participating organizations of the Archdiocese of Miami. The year before, the campaign raised over $70,000 to benefit 27 participating archdiocesan organizations.

Donations must be made by credit card, with the minimum set at $25 and no long-term pledges allowed. Donors may only give once that day, and only via the online interface, but they can split their gift among various entities.

The online platform created by the archdiocesan Office of Development for #Giving Tuesday is: www.givecatholicgt.org.
