March for Life — virtually
This year, everyone can join the March for Life in Washington, D.C. while remaining safely at home.
The Virtual Pilgrimage 2021 features:
- A Holy Hour for Life with Archbishop Thomas Wenski, Thursday, Jan. 28, at 7 p.m., livestreamed from the Cathedral of St. Mary in Miami (https://www.facebook.com/stmarymiami/);
- a Vigil Mass for Life also on Thursday, at 8:30 p.m., livestreamed from the Basilica in Washington. D.C. (https://www.nationalshrine.org/mass/);
- the youth rally and Mass for Life, Friday, Jan. 29 at 8:30 a.m., livestreamed from Washington. D.C. (http://youthrallyandmassforlife.org/);
- and the official pre-march rally at noon, Jan. 29, followed by the march at 1 p.m., all livestreamed from the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
*On Wednesday, Jan. 27, Archbishop Wenski also will celebrate the noon Mass at St. John Vianney Seminary in Miami, which will be livestreamed at www.sjvcs.edu/prolifemass.
And on Friday, Jan. 29, at 7:30 p.m., the Archdiocese of Miami will host a livestreamed reflection for high school youths with Father Manny Alvarez, pastor of Little Flower Church in Coral Gables, and Rosemarie Banich, archdiocesan director of Evangelization and Parish Life. Kickstands up! Ride with Wenski
The 2021 Motorcycle Ride with Archbishop Thomas Wenski will take place Sunday, Feb. 7, beginning at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Doral and ending at Peterson’s Harley-Davidson South in Cutler Bay. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. followed by 8:30 a.m. Mass and 10 a.m. kickstands up. Donation is $20 per bike and benefits Catholic Charities’ St. Luke’s Center for alcohol and substance abuse. Help a girl stay in Catholic school
The Miami Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women will host its annual scholarship fundraiser virtually this year, beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, with a Mass celebrated by Father Michael Greer, MACCW spiritual director, at Assumption Church in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. The Mass will be followed by the presentation of the 2020 scholarship recipients: girls in eighth grade in Catholic elementary schools seeking to continue their education in a Catholic high school.
