Fun marks Catholic Schools Week at St. Ambrose

Among the activities: Field day, dress-up days, a cookie contest, and a spelling bee

DEERFIELD BEACH | With a different theme each day, students at St. Ambrose School celebrated Catholic Schools Week, Jan. 31-Feb. 7, 2021 – and it didn’t matter whether they were learning virtually or in person, everyone joined in the fun.

There was “100 day” to mark the 100th day of school, which featured kindergartners dressing up as seniors and other students marking the occasion with homemade paper eyeglasses shaped like the number; professional day where they dressed up as practitioners of different careers; a field day where one of the games had them jumping over toilet paper stacks; and superhero day, where they dressed up as comic book heroes.

First graders took part in a spelling bee, competing both from home and in the classroom. And middle schoolers enjoyed a virtual field day where one of the challenges was to bring a cookie from their foreheads to their mouths without using their hands.

Check out some of the fun in the slide show above.
