Celebration of the Baccalaureate Mass presided by Archbishop Thomas G. Wenski from St. Mary Cathedral. Read his homily here. See below for the message to graduates from Kim Pryzbylski, archdiocesan superintendent of schools.
Good morning. I’m Kim Pryzbylski, superintendent of schools for the Archdiocese of Miami. And (this is) my opportunity to thank everyone who is part of the school community that helps our students excel in many ways.
I’d like to thank parents for entrusting your children to our Catholic schools. We support your values and Catholicity and academic success that you’re hoping for your children.
I’d also like to thank all the administrators, principals, teachers. Without you, Catholic education and your role models would not be able to be successful.
I’d also like to encourage all high school seniors, with everything that you have accomplished this year, in spite of COVID-19. You will be the leaders of the new normal. You’ve experienced ups and downs but you have survived and you’ve conquered. You now are going to be able to lead in a much different way than has been in the past.
So, class of 2020, best of luck to you in your new adventure. I know that you will be very successful. And we’re looking forward to supporting you any way we can. The high schools are always ready to receive you back. Your pastors love to see you when you come back, not just only on breaks, but possibly on the weekends that you’re back. So thanks again and best of luck to the seniors of 2020.
