St. Theresa School, Little Flower Church unveil Centennial Campaign

St. Theresa School and the Church of the Little Flower in Coral Gables have announced a Centennial Campaign ahead of their 100-year anniversary in 2026. The campaign includes plans for the first new building to be constructed on the historic campus in over 70 years, in addition to restoration plans within the church. The fundraising campaign, which began this September, has raised over $5.5 million with a total goal of $13 million. The plans call for a new multipurpose center located on the campus of St. Theresa School which will house a gymnasium, a performing arts stage, school administrative offices, a special, secured, single point of entry, and additional music, art, and STEM classrooms. Plans for the church include a custom pipe organ that will extend up into the current mezzanine and new solid wood pews; restoration of the reredos and sanctuary to their original splendor; and repainting the interior of the church, including its characteristic dome, which will be painted gold. School and church leaders hope to break ground on the new multipurpose center before the end of the 2023-2024 school year. Serra Vocations Rally set for Miami in January

Thousands of lay Catholics who want to do something about the vocations crisis will be converging in Miami this January for a rally that focuses on best practices for promoting vocations among Catholic youths. The Serra Rally will be held at the Miami Marriott Dadeland, Jan. 18-21, 2024, and will draw Serrans from across the country. High-level speakers include Cardinal Thomas Collins of Toronto, Bishop Thomas Daly of Spokane, and Miami Archbishop Thomas Wenski. The Serra Club is the Holy See's official organization for promoting vocations. The rally is being held in Miami in part due to the Miami Serra Club's unprecedented growth, having gone in three years from fewer than a dozen members to more than 110 highly active Serrans. During the rally, registrants will tour St. John Vianney College Seminary and enjoy a meal with seminarians. Various workshops will focus on specific ways to invite young men to consider priesthood and how to grow club membership. An awards ceremony will honor Serrans who have shown exemplary dedication to the cause. Learn more and register for the Serra Rally at www.serraus.org.
