Miami, FL (August 30, 2024) – The Archdiocese of Miami invites the faithful to take part in the celebration in honor of the Feast Day of Cuba’s patroness, Our Lady of Charity, on Saturday, September 7, 2024, with a Mass celebrated by Archbishop Thomas Wenski.
This year the celebration will take place at Milander Park located at 4700 Palm Avenue in Hialeah, beginning with a rosary at 7 p.m., followed by a procession of the image of Our Lady of Charity. The solemn Mass in honor of the Feast Day will begin at 8 p.m. The celebration will conclude with a fireworks display at 10:00 p.m.
In addition, the National Shrine of Our Lady of Charity will host a series of events leading up to the Feast Day that includes a traditional nine-day novena starting on Friday, August 30, and a vehicular pilgrimage procession on Saturday, August 31. The procession will depart from the shrine and stop to visit emblematic places and parishes throughout Miami-Dade County.
On the Feast Day of Our Lady of Charity, Sunday, September 8, the National Shrine will have the image exposed for veneration until 6 p.m.
