David Prada, senior director of Building and Properties for the archdiocese, has been elected president of the Conference for Catholic Facility Management. This national organization brings together professionals working for the Church in matters of real estate, construction, and facility management. Its goal is to promote their spiritual growth and professional development. Prada, who grew up in Miami, took over the archdiocese’s building and properties office in July 2012. He earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Cornell University and worked as vice-president for project development at a local firm, Lemartec Engineering and Construction, before coming to the archdiocese.

 

 

 

Dan Marino looking for volunteers

Dolphins legend Dan Marino, who recently visited Miami’s St. Brendan High School to check out the new football field, is looking for 10,000 volunteers to welcome visitors to Miami for Super Bowl LIV. Marino serves as head of the Miami Super Bowl Host Committee. The committee is looking for high energy, enthusiastic volunteers who are passionate about football, love the South Florida region, and can commit to three or more shifts during Super Bowl week, Jan. 25–Feb. 2, 2020. All volunteers will act as Super Bowl ambassadors across South Florida, including locations such as downtown Miami, Miami Beach Convention Center, South Florida airports, various hotels and fan events.
