Miami…(March 16, 2017) All 109 Catholic parishes and missions throughout the Archdiocese of Miami will celebrate Masses and Good Friday Service during the Holy Triduum. The Triduum is the three-day celebration of the death and resurrection of Christ - Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Vigil/Easter Sunday.
Archbishop Thomas Wenski will celebrate Holy Thursday, and Easter Vigil Masses as well as the Good Friday Service at the Cathedral of St. Mary during these Holy Days.
On Holy Thursday, April 13: Archbishop Wenski will celebrate the evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper at 8 p.m. followed by Eucharistic Adoration and Altar Repose until 10:30 p.m. Archbishop Wenski will wash the feet of 12 people,recalling the actions of Christ at the Last Supper.
Good Friday (Service), April 14: Archbishop Wenski celebrates the Liturgy of the Lord's Passion at 3 p.m.
The Procession of the Sorrowful Mother will take place later in the evening following the 8 p.m. Service that will be presided by Fr. Christopher Marino, Rector of St. Mary Cathedral.
Easter Vigil Mass, April 15: Archbishop Wenski celebrates Easter Vigil Mass at 8 p.m. which will include the Blessing of the New Fire & the initiation of new Catholics into the Church. This year 550 Catechumens will be welcomed into the Church throughout the parishes of the Archdiocese of Miami.
