McCarthy High honored again

SOUTHWEST RANCHES | Fresh on the heels of being named an Apple Distinguished School, Archbishop Edward A. McCarthy High School has been recognized again for its innovative learning through technology.

“Today’s Catholic Teacher” announced that it is one of the recipients of the 2013 Innovations in Catholic Education Awards.  

The national award honors 12 Catholic elementary and secondary schools which have led the way in education by implementing exemplary and innovative programs.  The schools were recognized for making significant strides in improving teaching techniques, which in turn impacts the education of students, faculty, and staff.

Archbishop McCarthy’s award was in the area of: Innovative projects facilitated by technology.

“To be named one of only 12 recipients of the 2013 Innovations in Catholic Education Awards from ‘Today’s Catholic Teacher’ is a great milestone for our school,” said Richard P. Jean, principal.

Jean and Supervising Principal Father Brendan Dalton will be presented the award during the National Catholic Educational Association convention to be held in Houston, Texas April 3.
