Coordinator of Religious Education

St. John Neumann Catholic Parish is seeking a full-time Coordinator of Religious Education to lead and implement a comprehensive catechetical vision for children, youth, and families. Rooted in our mission to overcrowd heaven, this role forms disciples by building strong programs, developing catechists, and fostering a culture of prayer, collaboration, and evangelization across the parish. The candidate performs all duties and responsibilities with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversee all parish catechetical programs, including elementary, family catechesis, sacramental preparation, and children’s liturgy.
- Implement a clear, systematic plan for lifelong faith formation in alignment with parish and Archdiocesan vision.
- Recruit, train, and support catechists and volunteers, ensuring ongoing spiritual and professional formation.
- Partner with parents as primary educators in the faith.
- Manage program logistics, calendars, registration, records, and budget.
- Ensure a safe, welcoming, and well-organized environment for all participants.
- Collaborate with parish staff, school leadership, and Archdiocesan offices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in theology or related field with 7+ years of pastoral experience.
- Practicing Catholic in full communion with the Church, actively living the faith.
- Experience in catechesis, ministry leadership, or parish formation.
- Ability to manage multiple programs and lead teams effectively.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Must have a professional demeanor.
