St. Theresa Catholic School in Coral Gables, Florida has an opening for a Middle School English/ Language Arts Teacher for the upcoming 2026-27 academic year. The applicant must be a dynamic and qualified educator with the ability to develop lessons that cultivate critical thinking skills, design instruction to motivate and engage all learners, and develop cross-curricular units. This teacher will be expected to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program for English/ Language Arts students. The candidate performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami and St. Theresa School. Salary will vary based on certification and years of experience.
Qualifications:
- BS / BA degree in Education, Language Arts, or related field required.
- Master’s degree in education field preferred.
- FDOE Teacher Certification in grades 5-9 or 6-12 Language Arts/ Literature; temporary or professional required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ related experience, including Language Arts and Literature teaching experience.
- Ability to work as a team member with students, parents, and staff, and integrate the Catholic worldview with the subjects taught.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Strong presentation skills with use of interactive instructional technologies, such as Apple, digital books and Gradebook.
- Proficiency in MS and Google apps.
- Good spelling and grammar are required.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
- Supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in Roman Catholic environment preferred.
- Knowledge of basic tenets of Catholic Church.
- Must have a professional demeanor and work as a team member.
