Our Lady of Lourdes Academy, an all-girl, archdiocesan high school, in South Miami-Dade, that proudly boasts a history of strong academics, competitive athletics, spiritual service and extracurricular achievement (www.olla.org), is looking for a Vice Principal for Student Affairs to share the responsibility of ensuring the on-going smooth operation of the school. This candidate performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision and tenets of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.
Founded in 1963, Our Lady of Lourdes Academy is a certified STEM school that seeks "to educate young women to face the future strengthened by their faith, prepared and confident in their abilities to achieve their goals and committed to their Catholic and American heritages.”
Responsibilities include:
- Implement all student management policies and procedures as delineated in the student handbook.
- Ensure that all student activities, spiritual, athletic, artistic, and social, reflect the mission of the school.
- Assist the President/Principal in providing Catholic educational leadership with daily school operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education required.
- Master’s degree in education or educational leadership preferred.
- Doctoral degree in education or educational leadership preferred.
- Department of Education Certification in Educational leadership preferred.
- Five (5) years of related academic experience.
- Knowledge of Diocesan and School Policies and ability to implement them consistently.
- Comprehensive understanding and commitment to the mission of Our Lady of Lourdes Academy.
- The ability to coordinate with Administration, Athletic and Activities Directors with consistency and flexibility.
- Extensive understanding of the principles of spiritual and psychological growth, adolescent development and growth in a Catholic School setting.
- Strong competency with technology, specifically SIS/School Information Systems.
- Excellent oral and written English language communication skills, including a clear speaking voice.
- Must have a professional demeanor.
- Must be fully committed, supportive and respectful of the mission, teachings and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church.
