St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic School in Miami, Florida is accepting applications for a qualified Elementary Teacher for the upcoming 2026-27 school year to begin in August. The applicant must be a dynamic and innovative educator with the ability to develop lessons that cultivate critical thinking skills, design instruction to motivate and engage all learners, and develop cross-curricular units. The candidate performs duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Salary will vary based on certification and experience.
Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree in Education or Elementary Education or related field.
- Florida Department of Education Teaching certificate in grades K-5, temporary or professional required.
- Must be flexible in assessing needs and strategies and adapt appropriately in a ministerial environment.
- Demonstrate collaboration in a professional learning community to develop, implement and continuously improve the effectiveness of the curriculum and instruction for high student achievement.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
- Good spelling and grammar are required.
- Strong presentation skills with use of instructional technologies.
- Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel; PowerPoint a plus.
- Supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in Roman Catholic environment preferred.
- Must have knowledge of basic tenets of Catholic Church.
- Must have a professional demeanor.
