St. Theresa Catholic School in Coral Gables, Florida has an opening for a dynamic and qualified Middle School Social Studies Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. This teacher is one who is passionate about teaching children and will be expected to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program for Social Studies students. The candidate performs duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami and St. Theresa School. Salary will vary based on certification and years of experience.
Qualifications:
- BS / BA degree in Education or related field; master’s degree preferred.
- Florida Department of Education Teacher certification in Social Sciences, grades 6-12 is required.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Ability to work with a variety of students, parents and staff and integrate Catholic worldview with the subjects.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Strong presentation skills with skill in use of instructional technologies.
- Excellent oral and written English language communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
- Good spelling and grammar required.
- Proficiency in MS and Google applications.
- Apple and technology skills needed to use digital books and interactive classroom technology as well as integrate technology into the subjects.
- Must be supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in Roman Catholic environment preferred.
- Must have knowledge of basic tenets of Catholic Church.
- Must have a professional demeanor.
