Immaculata - La Salle High School, a private Catholic school in Miami, is looking to hire a qualified and experienced High School Science Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year who has a deep understanding of the sciences that will allow him or her to create lessons that are relevant to the students and that enhance the students’ conceptual understanding of the functions in their own lives as they learn and apply academic concepts through diverse teaching methodologies. The teacher begins August 3, 2026, and performs all duties and responsibilities with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Salary is commensurate with certification and years of service.
Functions include:
- Demonstrate varied teaching methodologies and the ability to explain scientific concepts in different ways using different examples and analogies or a willingness to continue to learn in their teaching profession.
- Demonstrate a desire to help guide high school students towards a holistic formation of personhood.
- Teach all grade levels of high school science.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a field of science required.
- Master’s degree in natural science or Science Education preferred.
- Florida Department of Education Teaching Certification in Science.
- Minimum one year of experience.
- Good computer literacy, including ability to navigate online applications and search engines effectively.
- Familiarity with iPad Applications, MS Office, online gradebooks, and other online educational applications and a willingness to work with such technology.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Good spelling and grammar are required.
- Effective oral and written English communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
- Supportive of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in a Roman Catholic environment preferred.
- Knowledge of basic tenets of Catholic Church.
- Must have a professional demeanor.
