The Technology Department at Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart is committed to empowering faculty and students to leverage emerging technologies to enhance the learning experience. The department’s responsibilities include but are not limited to network administration, hardware and software support, audio-visual direction, technology integration, and registrar/systems software management. Under the leadership of the Director of Technology, the department operates out of two locations- supporting all learning communities as well as the operational side of the school. The Technology Support Specialist provides Tier 2 Technical Support with in-depth technical knowledge and solutions for both hardware and software infrastructure. This position will support the entire school and make regular on-site visits as part of a full-time employment position.
Responsibilities include:
- Represent Carrollton as a Christ-centered institution rooted in the mission and values expressed through Sacred Heart education.
- Provide daily technical support to faculty, staff, and students for hardware, software, network, and AV-related issues across campus
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with school devices including desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, and interactive classroom technology.
- Set up, maintain, and inventory school-owned technology, ensuring the equipment is in good working order and properly documented.
- Support the rollout and management of school-wide technology initiatives, including software updates, device deployments, and classroom tech integrations.
- Respond to and manage help desk tickets in a timely and professional manner; escalate complex issues when necessary.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding users, including account creation, permissions setup, and device preparation or recovery.
- Collaborate with instructional staff to support the integration of technology into teaching and learning environments.
- Provide technical support for events, assemblies, and meetings that require audio/visual or IT assistance.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of school systems, including Google Workspace for Education, learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Seesaw), and SIS platforms.
- Monitor and maintain the security and integrity of user accounts, devices, and data in alignment with school policies.
- Work with the IT team to implement and uphold best practices for cybersecurity, data privacy, and acceptable use.
- Participate in professional development to stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in educational technology.
- Assist in planning and executing summer technology maintenance and upgrades.
- Perform other technology-related duties as assigned by the Director of Technology or school administration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field preferred.
- Must be professional, collaborative, courteous, detail-oriented, independently driven, and highly organized.
- Ability to work with all levels of staff, faculty, and parents- handling confidential, time-sensitive, and critical details.
- Experience in Veracross or other CMR program is preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and Google Workspace.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have or be able to quickly acquire knowledge and understanding of Carrollton’s mission and identity as a Catholic, Sacred Heart, all-girls, Independent School.
