Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida has an opening for a qualified ESE/ Coordinator. This position is responsible for the implementation of all ESE programs and services, including documentation and protocols for the school. Primary duties include the implementation, and documentation of ILP’s and Accommodation Plans for all incoming freshmen, and current students enrolled in ESE, ensuring that all students with a plan receive approved accommodations for all standardized and school-based assessments. As well as regular one-on-one support to ESE students, s/he will foster strong executive functioning skills such as time management, organization, and self-advocacy, while ensuring their accommodations are being effectively implemented to support academic and personal success within a faith-based learning environment. Additionally, the candidate will provide and collect testing accommodation information for HSPT, Pre-ACT, ACT, PSAT, SAT, and AP assessments. The Cardinal Gibbons High School ESE Coordinator performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversight and Coordination of all ESE Services and Programs.
- Coordinate and manage the Calasanz Program.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and documentation of ILP’s and Accommodation Plans.
- Oversight and Maintaining Compliance with Legal and District Guidelines, Documentation & Reporting.
- Oversight of Title funding (I, II, IV).
- Tier 2 Leadership Responsibilities, including the Academic Committee and Weekly Meetings.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Exceptional Child Education required.
- Knowledge of basic tenets of the Catholic Church, hierarchical structure and entities; Experience in a Roman Catholic environment strongly preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills, including ability to maintain focus on and professionalism with people in challenging situations, both in person and by phone.
- Good computer literacy, including ability to navigate search engines effectively to locate information.
- Must have a professional demeanor and demonstrated ability and experience in maintaining strict confidentiality.
