Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, seeks a Digital Video Program Coordinator / Teacher. The candidate is responsible for managing and overseeing the creation, production, and distribution of a high-quality broadcasting program that informs, entertains, and engages the school community. The role focuses on fostering student engagement and education in broadcasting and equipping students with valuable technical, creative, and collaborative skills in promoting the school’s mission and vision. The Digital Video Program Coordinator / Teacher performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Archdiocese of Miami.
Essential Functions:
- Oversee and manages all facets of CGTV programming which includes but is not limited to daily script writing, editing, and production of the daily broadcast.
- Provide students with hands-on experiences in media production, journalism and broadcasting.
- Develop and deliver a curriculum that covers video production, audio editing, live streaming, and multimedia storytelling.
- Operate and maintain all broadcasting equipment, including cameras, sound systems, editing software, and studio technology.
- Supervise the production of school news, coordinate live coverage of school events such as sports games, assemblies, and performances.
- Ensure compliance with copyright, ethics, and safety guidelines in media production.
- Assist in creating content for social media, website, and other multimedia marketing materials.
- Familiar with or able to learn: Adobe Premiere Pro; After Effects; TriCaster TC1; mirrorless cameras.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Art, Education, or related field from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Background in broadcasting and media production, technical proficiency in operating and maintaining equipment (including cameras, microphones, switchers, and mixers), as well as with software related to the editing of audio and video.
- 2 years’ experience.
- Good oral and written English-language communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel; PowerPoint a plus.
- Must have a professional demeanor.
- Must be supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church and have knowledge of its structures, functions and institutions.
