Celebrate St. Pius X, 'Pope of the Eucharist'

Events scheduled for Aug. 12-20 at his namesake Fort Lauderdale parish

FORT LAUDERDALE | St. Pius X Church is celebrating the feast day of their patron saint, St. Pius X, and the Eucharistic Revival that began on Corpus Christi Sunday and continues until July 2024.

The celebration will begin with parishioners praying the Novena to St. Pius X from August 12 through August 20 during the morning Mass, at 8:30 a.m.

On Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2022, parishioners will gather in the parish hall at 5 p.m. for an evening of fun, fellowship, and some surprises. The evening will begin by taking a 'pope quiz' to find out how much parishioners know about St. Pius X. Following the quiz, St. Pius X will make a special appearance to tell everyone a little about his early life, his time as pope, what was happening in the Church during his time, and some of his achievements.

The evening will close with the parishioners listening to the eucharistic miracle that took place in the time of his papacy. This is in honor of St. Pius X who was called the Pope of the Eucharist, and because we are in the beginning of the Eucharistic Revival, reminding Catholics of the Real Presence in the Eucharist.

The week concludes with Archbishop Thomas Wenski celebrating Mass on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022 at 4:30 p.m. An elegant evening of fine cuisine and spectacular entertainment by Marcel Raza and pianist Leonard Reina will follow Mass. Dinner tickets are $30 per person.
