Archbishop Thomas Wenski to Celebrate Ash Wednesday Mass

Miami Shores, FL (February 16, 2026) – Archbishop Thomas Wenski will celebrate Holy Mass on Ash Wednesday, February 18, 2025 at 12:00 p.m., at Gesu Church, 118 NE 2nd St, Miami, FL 33132.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the 40-day Lenten season, a time of penance and preparation for the commemoration of the passion and death of Jesus Christ, and his ultimate resurrection on Easter Sunday. It is a day of abstinence from meat for Catholics over the age of 14, and a day of fasting — one full meal and two small meals, with nothing eaten between meals — for adults ages 18-59.

Lent concludes with the celebration of the Mass of the Last Supper on Holy Thursday — the first day of the Easter Triduum — followed by Good Friday services and the celebration of the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday.
