Miami, FL (December 19, 2025) –The Archdiocese of Miami, in communion with the Universal Church and Pope Francis, will recognize the end of the Jubilee Year 2025 with a solemn Mass, celebrated by Archbishop Thomas Wenski, at St. Mary’s Cathedral on Saturday, December 27, at 5:30 p.m.
The closing of the Holy Door at St. Peter's Basilica in Rome officially marks the end of the Jubilee Year on January 6, 2026, the Feast of the Epiphany. Pope Leo XIV will close and seal the door until the next Jubilee.
This Jubilee Year marked the 2,025th anniversary of the Incarnation of Our Lord on Christmas Eve 2024 with the opening of the Holy Door at St. Peter's Basilica by Pope Francis.
The Jubilee Year offered the faithful opportunities to participate in various jubilee events at the Vatican and locally within the Archdiocese. For those who could not travel to Rome, bishops around the world designated their cathedrals and or Catholic shrines as special places of prayer throughout the year, offering opportunities for reconciliation, indulgences, and other events intended to strengthen and revive faith.
