DAVIE - Three eighth-grade students from St. Bonaventure School in Davie and three more from Archbishop Edward McCarthy High School in Southwest Ranches have been recognized with Pinnacle awards during the 15th annual Broward County Non Public School Association Luncheon held at Signature Grand in Davie.

The Pinnacle Award is presented to exemplary students who are nominated by their schools based on the example they have set for others, including their actions in the home, school and community.

St. Bonaventure's 2012 Pinnacle Award winners are all eighth graders who have attended school together since their pre kindergarten days: Megan Caudle, Gianna Gutierrez and Michael Moreiras.

"The Pinnacle Award encompasses the total child, not just academics but how they help others and give back to the community. This is what we teach our students at St. Bonaventure and this is how they become successful in life," said Nydia Claudio, the school's principal.

Archbishop McCarthy High School's Pinnacle winners were Anthony Coniglio, a freshman, and seniors Kristian Charbonier and Javier Rodriquez. They attended the awards luncheon April 19 with their parents, McCarthy High Assistant Principal Robert Siccone and Guidance Director Pilar Blanco.

"This award recognizes the unsung hero who has made a contribution to our school and community," said Blanco. "Each of these students has quietly made a great impact on our school and community."
