MS Social Studies and Religion Teacher

St. Mark Catholic School in Southwest Ranches, Florida has an opening for a qualified Middle School Teacher (6th grade) for the 2026-27 school year to teach Social Studies and Religion. This candidate can help students learn, apply higher order thinking skills, and is qualified to teach assigned grade levels. This teacher will be required to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program for middle school. The candidate performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Salary is commensurate with certification and years of experience.
Qualifications:
- BS / BA Degree in Education, History, Religion, or other related middle school subject matter.
- Florida Department of Education teaching certificate for middle school.
- Must obtain catechetical certification from Archdiocese Office of Catechesis within three years of hire.
- Experience in teaching Middle School.
- Strong presentation skills with skill in use of innovative instructional technologies.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Excellent oral and written English language communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
- Good spelling and grammar are required.
- Proficiency with interactive boards, MS Outlook, Word, and Excel, PowerPoint.
- Proficiency with Apple technologies, hardware, software and apps.
- Must be supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in Roman Catholic environment preferred.
- Must have knowledge of the tenets of the Catholic Church.
- Must have a professional demeanor, including adherence to dress code.
