Annunciation Catholic School in West Park (Broward County), Florida, is hiring a full-time Accounting/Payroll Clerk. This position provides clerical accounting support and liaises with the external accountants. Responsibilities include but are not limited to cash handling, adjustments, past-due accounts, helping with the collection of past-due balances, processing invoices/credit, invoice matching, filing, and other related responsibilities. The candidate performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.
Responsibilities include:
- Collect and verify lunch money received from staff, faculty, and students; collect and verify money received from parents and outside agencies; prepare daily deposits; post deposits.
- Ensure that the accounting procedures within the school are in compliance with policy.
- Help prepare bank deposits by logging all deposit bags turned in, ensuring that numbers are correct.
- Track and sort accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Maintain state scholarship files with supporting documentation for accuracy.
- Prepare reports and summaries for supervisors and managers, including spreadsheets as needed.
- Demonstrate confidentiality and discretion in job tasks.
- Perform special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting required.
- Ability to monitor FACTS (student tuition) accounts to ensure that payments are up to date.
- Knowledge and skill in payroll required.
- Ability to maintain accurate records.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to utilize technology, including Microsoft Word and Excel, to reconcile and analyze inventory.
- Must have a professional demeanor, including adherence to dress code.
