Cardinal Gibbons High School, located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is hiring for an On Call Substitute. Cardinal Gibbons High School is a Catholic, college-preparatory school committed to forming young men and women in faith, leadership, and service. The candidate performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission and values of the Archdiocese of Miami.
Responsibilities include:
- Execute provided lesson plans with a focus on maintaining student engagement and academic momentum.
- Facilitate hands-on activities safely and effectively, following specific teacher instructions and safety protocols.
- Maintain a productive learning environment by applying consistent classroom management and interpersonal skills.
- Provide detailed feedback to the lead teacher regarding student progress, completed assignments, and any classroom incidents.
- Ensure student safety and supervision during work, transitions, and specialized classroom activities.
- Communicate effectively with school administration and staff to ensure seamless daily operations.
- Uphold high standards for student behavior and academic integrity in the absence of the permanent instructor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
- FDOE Teaching Certification preferred.
- Three (3) years or more of related experience.
- Adaptability to various disciplines and the ability to implement diverse instructional strategies on short notice.
- Software skills such as Google suite, Notability, and iPad.
- Excellent Verbal and written communication.
- Exemplify professionalism in behavior and performance, including adherence to dress code.
