Annunciation Catholic School in West Hollywood, Florida has an opening for a Social Studies Teacher for the 2026-27 school year to teach grades 3 through 8. This teacher is one who is passionate about teaching children and will be expected to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program for Social Studies students. The candidate performs duties and responsibilities in alignment with the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Salary will vary based on certification and years of experience.
Qualifications:
- BS / BA Degree in Social Studies Education or related field.
- Florida Department of Education Teacher certification in Social Sciences (History) 5-9 or Social Sciences k-12 is required.
- Must obtain catechetical certification from the Archdiocese Office of Catechesis within three years of hire.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Strong presentation skills with skill in use of instructional technologies.
- Excellent oral and written English -language communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
- Good spelling and grammar are required.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel, PowerPoint a plus.
- Must be supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in Roman Catholic environment preferred.
- Must have knowledge of basic tenets of Catholic Church.
- Must have a professional demeanor, including adherence to dress code.
