St. Bonaventure Catholic School in Davie, Florida has an opening for a Guidance Counselor for the 2026-27 school year. The applicant is expected to provide students with the personal, social, academic, and emotional skills necessary to succeed. In addition, s/he will collaborate and communicate on a regular basis with faculty, staff, and parents to address the students’ needs. The School Counselor performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Salary will vary based on certification and years of experience.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Guidance Counseling or related field required.
- Certification in Guidance Counseling, or related field.
- Must obtain catechetical certification from the Archdiocese Office of Catechesis within three years of hire.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ related experience.
- Utilize a comprehensive school guidance program to address the needs of all students.
- Collaborate effectively with administrators, teachers and staff, parents, and community members; and reach out for community resources.
- Maintain confidentiality of information involved in this position.
- Knowledge and interpretation of psychological-educational student evaluations.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Good spelling and grammar are required.
- Effective oral and written English communication skills.
- Supportive and respectful of the missions and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in a Roman Catholic environment preferred.
- Must have a professional demeanor, including adherence to dress code.
- Must be able to work on site during contracted days.
