School Counselor

St. Coleman Catholic School in Pompano Beach, Florida, seeks a qualified and experienced full-time School Counselor for the 2026-27 year to assist the first school counselor in collaborating with the administration, faculty, staff, and parents to address the students’ needs. The School Counselor performs the duties and responsibilities of a counselor in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Archdiocese of Miami and St. Anthony Catholic School.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Family Counseling preferred.
- FDOE certification in Guidance Counseling.
- Must obtain catechetical certification from the Archdiocese Office of Catechesis within three years of hire.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience.
- Strong presentation skills with use of instructional technologies including iPad and Google Workspace.
- Proficiency using digital student information systems.
- Ability to effectively make decisions, in collaboration with the school administration.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively daily.
- Ability to work with varying grade levels of students, creating activities that are helpful for all.
- Participate in reflective, self-directed, on-going professional development.
- Confidential approach towards information learned in this position.
- Participate in faculty meetings, retreats, school assemblies, and special events.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
- Supportive and respectful of the missions and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church.
- Knowledge of basic tenets of the Catholic Church.
- Must have a professional demeanor, including adherence to dress code.
