High School Music & Band Teacher / Music Minister

St. Brendan High School in Miami, Florida is seeking to hire a qualified and experienced full-time High School Music & Band Teacher / Music Minister. The teacher is expected to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program for High School Music & Band. The Music & Band Teacher / Music Minister performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Salary will vary based on certification and years of service.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Music Education, Instrumental Performance or related field.
- Florida Department of Education Teaching Certification in Music K-12, preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience, preferred.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Knowledge in music theory, instrument-specific teaching methods and conducting, preferred.
- Experience in preparing a school choir and band/orchestra for competitions.
- Experience in directing a school choir to perform at weekly school Liturgies.
- Must be able to serve as Music Minister for school Liturgies.
- Must demonstrate the ability to effectively integrate technology into all aspects of instruction, including planning, delivery, assessment and communication.
- Must have clear and professional communication with students and parents.
- Good oral and written English-language communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
- Must be supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church.
- Must have a professional demeanor.
