Immaculata-La salle High School, a private Catholic school in Miami, Florida, is hiring for a qualified and experienced History/Social Studies Teacher for the coming 2026-27 school year who is passionate about the relevance of history, helping students understand how to form an equitable and just society and who is passionate about helping students become service-oriented as they learn and apply academic concepts through diverse teaching methodologies. This position is responsible is expected to perform all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the Catholic mission, vision and values of the Archdiocese of Miami.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in history or social science relevant field. Master’s degree in history or relevant field preferred.
- 1 year of experience preferred.
- Florida Department of Education Teaching Certification in Social Sciences 6-12
- Candidate should have experience in teaching different Social Studies subjects with an emphasis on History at the high school level and have taken courses in history as part of their undergraduate and/or graduate degree.
- Candidate should be familiar with iPad Applications and have a willingness to work with such technology.
- Candidate should be familiar with MS Office, online gradebooks, and other online educational applications; he/she should have a willingness to work with such technology.
- Good oral and written English-language communication skills, including clear speaking voice required.
- Good Spanish-language spoken communication skills strongly encouraged.
- Supportive of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in a Roman Catholic environment preferred.
- Knowledge of basic tenets of Catholic Church.
- Must have a professional demeanor.
