Cardinal Gibbons High School located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida (Broward County) has an immediate opening for a qualified and experienced Social Studies / Economics Teacher for the current 2025-2026 school year. This candidate performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and tenets of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Salary is commensurate with certification and years of service.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Studies / History or related field with experience in teaching at a high school level, required.
- Must provide at the time of resume, a copy of Florida Department of Education Teaching Certification in Social Science grades 6-12.
- Excellent classroom management skills and demonstrated ability to engage students.
- Knowledge and skill in the use of instructional technology, including iPads in the classroom.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or similar forms is a plus.
- Strong presentation skills with the use of instructional technologies.
- Excellent oral and written English language communication skills, including a clear speaking voice.
- Must be fully committed, supportive, and respectful of the mission, teachings, and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church.
- Must have a professional demeanor.
