Mind, a collection of paintings by Marilyn Valiente and sculptures by her

psychiatrist and psychoanalyst Carl G. Jung regarding archetypes, dreams and
myth reflections, and expressions which explore the people’s perceptions
thought history and throughout every culture.
The exhibition, which can be viewed at the Rev. Jorge A. Sardiñas Gallery, located on the second floor of St. Thomas University’s Main Library, will be open until Sept. 16, 2022. Call or check first for library opening and closing times.

Psychotherapist and visual artist Marilyn Valiente received her Master of Mental Health Counseling degree from St. Thomas University in 1989. This will be her second time exhibiting her work at STU.
“Art making, for me, is a healing inner process. It is intuitive and spontaneous,” said Marilyn. “I seek to open the locked door of the unconscious through a play of lines, marks and colors.”
David S. Valiente is a prominent psychologist and sculptor who received his Master of Science in Marriage & Family Therapy degree from STU in 1989. This will be his first time exhibiting at his alma mater.
“I am a psychologist/sculptor who has integrated my psychology background with the themes of my sculptures,” said David.
Both artists have extensively showcased their works of art in the United States and abroad.

Celebrate 'Pope of the Eucharist' at his namesake parish
Saturday, Aug 20, 2022 at 4:30 PM - English
St. Pius X Catholic Church is celebrating the feast day of their patron saint, St. Pius X and the Eucharistic
Revival that began on Corpus Christi
Sunday and continues until July 2024.
The celebration will begin with parishioners
praying the Novena to St. Pius X from
August 12 through Aug. 20 during the morning Mass.
On Tuesday, Aug.16, 2022, parishioners will gather in the parish hall at 5 p.m. for
an evening of fun, fellowship, and some surprises.
The evening will begin by taking a
'pope quiz' to find out how much
parishioners know about Saint Pius X. Following the quiz, Saint Pius X will make a special
appearance to tell everyone a little about his early life, his time
as pope, what was happening in the Church during his time, and some of his
achievements.
The evening will close with the parishioners
listening to the eucharistic miracle that took place in the time of his papacy. This is in honor
of St. Pius X who was
called the Pope of the Eucharist, and because we are in the beginning
of the Eucharistic Revival, reminding Catholics of the Real Presence in the Eucharist.
The week concludes with Archbishop Thomas Wenski celebrating Mass on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022 at 4:30 p.m.
An elegant evening of fine cuisine and
spectacular entertainment by Marcel Raza and pianist Leonard Reina will follow Mass. It will be an evening to remember. Tickets to the dinner are $30/person.
