St. Robert Bellarmine Church reopening as a mission of Corpus Christi

MIAMI- Archbishop Thomas Wenski has granted permission for the reopening of St. Robert Bellarmine Church in Miami as a mission of Corpus Christi Parish. The first Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Sept. 24 at 7:30 p.m. in Spanish.

St. Robert Bellarmine Mission will be served by the priests and staff of Corpus Christi Parish. Beginning Sept. 26, Mass will be celebrated every Sunday at 12:30 p.m.

In a letter to Father Jos� Luis Men�ndez, pastor of Corpus Christi, Archbishop Wenski said, �I thank you for your dedication to ministry in one of Miami�s poorer and more challenging neighborhoods. While poor in economic resources, the people whom you serve are rich in faith. May their prayers sustain you and your collaborations in your ministry among them.�

St. Robert Bellarmine Mission is located at 3405 NW 27th Avenue in Miami, 33142.

A mission or �chapel of ease� is a church other than the parish church, built within the boundaries of a parish for the attendance of those who cannot reach the parish church conveniently.
